Overview:
Are you interested in what problems AI can solve?
Are you wondering what opportunities are out there in the AI area field?
Are you thinking about turning fantastic ideas into products with the right AI technology?
Are you building your AI solution and eager to get feedback from AI gurus and entrepreneurs?
We've invited professors from college, AI technical gurus from IBM and Microsft to share their views on AI academy trends and technical practice. Some of the speakers are entrepreneurs.
There will also be AI startup pitches in the event, in which some of them are pre-A or A serial stage. This is a great opportunity to see how the ideas are turned into products.
Come get the answers and communicate with the startup founders!

Pengyu Hong
Associate Professor of Computer Science at Brandeis
Dr. Hong’s main research focus is on Machine Learning, Image Processing, Data Mining, and their applications in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Computational Cognitive Science, and Intelligent Education. His lab has developed novel advanced techniques to analyze heterogeneous data, such as image, video, text, audio, EEG, and so on. His main contributions include pioneering in developing high-content neuronal screening techniques, integrating heterogeneous biological data to automatically infer multi-cellular regulatory networks, detect protein-protein interactions by analyzing Mass Spectrometry data, electronic healthcare record analysis, machine-learning driven image retrieval, audio-driven face animation, probabilistic reasoning in multimodal human-computer interfaces.
Tao Wu
Tao Wu is a Principal Data Scientist Manager at Azure Data Group in Microsoft and leads a group of data scientists and architects that helps customers adopt cloud, machine learning, and big data technologies. His team was also instrumental in integrating open source data science tools such as Jupyter and Spark into Azure. Prior to his current role, he was Chief Data Scientist at Nokia, where he led the development of the company's first big data analytics platform and helped build its data science practice. Earlier in his career, Tao held research positions at Nokia Research Center and MIT CSAIL.
Marcus Yee
Marcus just left IBM after more than 20 years of services to join force with an IBM Watson business partner and a predictive software startup. He has over 20 years of sales and sales consulting experience at IBM working in multiple sales and business development roles. He specializes in strategic and sales process consulting to shorten complex sales cycles. He developed and managed strategic relationships with IBM partners that drove multi-millions of IBM annual revenues.
In 2015, he was on a team that works with startups, entrepreneurs, enterprises, developers, incubators,and VCs in the Cambridge/Boston area. Even after joining IBM Research’s Accessibility team in 2016, he regularly consults with startups and established companies on their go to market strategies, their risk exposures, and their sales and channel models. He made connections within IBM where applicable and refers startups to appropriate mentors, VCs, or angel investors when appropriate. He views sales as the critical success factor for all businesses whether it is selling its ideas to investors or its products to customers.
Marcus holds monthly office hours at the Venture Café. He is also a mentor and a judge at MassChallenge and MassChallenge’s Pulse@Check digital health lab.Marcus has a MBA from UC Berkeley and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State. Prior to joining IBM, he was a process design engineer for the Chevron Research Company in the San Francisco area.

It is a Northeastern University spinoff and founded by serial entrepreneurs and world-renowned Artificial Intelligence expert. Blink Card is a financial technology company offering financial services to consumers. Blink Card’s first product, the Blink Card –– which will be marketed towards both parents and adolescents –– is a mobile banking platform for families, where children are supplied a debit card backed by a mobile app. Parents are able to monitor their kids' spending, while children can manage their money through a variety of powerful tools.
