*Different groups (hikers, motor-riders, passengers by car or shuttle) shall meet at the pole of summit. We’ll stay ON TOP OF EAST COAST for one hour: taking group pictures, having lunch (late lunch though), and…… up to yourself, there’re gift shop, bar, museum, observatory and plentiful indoor rest area on the summit.
*8:00am - 9:00am: Breakfast

- 帖子:3170Well, Xiaozhi said some negative things about the hike. I have to admit it’s true. Mt. Washington is notorious for its frequent bad weather conditions. This mountain is a world-class peak in terms of its weather, which is often harsh, with dense fog, strong winds, and copious amounts of precipitation… Sometimes, the weather could be life-threatening to the unprepared hiker. That’s why I called for ideas of backup plan in my first post.
I don’t intend to discourage people from joining. However, I must prioritize safety over adventure. So, do your homework before you decide to join:
1. Evaluate your physical condition
2. Equip yourself with these things (not must but highly recommend):
Water-proof hiking boots with ankle-support or at least a pair of sturdy sports shoes
A pair of water-proof gloves
Water-proof, wind-proof, breathable pants and tops
OK! Don’t be intimidated by my words. I'm trying to prepare everyone for the worst. We'll be . It pays to be as cautious as possible when we’re doing tough backcountry venture. A trip to Mount Washington is an unforgettable experience!!! You won’t regret your decision once you are on top the east coast…
Welcome aboard if you’re ready physically and mentally

- 帖子:3170Sunflower, my tone in that post sounds a little serious. Things are not so complicated as you think. As long as you don't have systemic diseasess and do exercise on a regular base, you should be OK. When we climbed Monoddock last time, did you feel it exceedingly demanding? If not, your physical condition is good for this hike.
BTW, did you find the things you need in REI? pbxmeis forwarded this link to me: http://www.campmor.com/. You might be interested in this online gear store.
[quote="sunflower"]Could you talk in more detail about how evaluate the physical condition or recommend a relevant webpage. Thanks
