Thanks, wild-goose, it's a fruitful night to me.

Thanks, colder, I got a quick grab at knowledge and principles in a field that I'm not familiar with. Still have some questions, want to read more. What are the most important refenrence papers that I should read regarding the therapy part as you mentioned it's already at clinical trial stage? Thanks.

Thank you folks. I should have prepared more background knowledge if I got enough time.

Geentea, here is an example of CTLA-4-Ig fusion protein that can provide you some additional knowledge about the fusion proteins and their clinical significance.

http://organtx.org/imm/CTLA4Ig-OX40Ig.htm

For scientific journal you can simply search through the PubMed. For example:
CTLA-4-Ig and mulitple sclerosis.

Thanks a lot, colder. I just got time to read those reference papers.

Since T cell co-stimulatory pathways are believed to play important roles in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune diseases, I’m not surprised that researchers are optimistic about the therapeutic potential of CTLA4Ig in a variety of autoimmune diseases (SLE, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis) and some transplantation surgery. The past decade has witnessed an unprecedented number of small molecules/oral drugs and humanized proteins that have been developed and approved for these purposes, yet none has been proved to be a very potent first line drug. I’m just curious how the seemingly promising experiences with CTLA4Ig will pave the way for future studies in such effort...

Anyway, very interesting work in the eyes of a layman like me. Wish you the best of luck with your research projects. smile
