I will stop saying bad words about this CEO 5/13/2008 13:48
This is an email response sent by the CEO's assistant, responding to my colleague's inquiry regarding how to help out:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Greg is on the road and asked that I respond to your email regarding the tragedy in China. Motorola is currently helping with this crisis as detailed in the message from Ruey Bin Kao. The team in Schaumburg is working closely with the team in China. We are also working on providing an opportunity for Motorolans to support the relief effort. You will see something on that soon."

To: All China employees

..............................

Today, Motorola announces to donate RMB 2 million of cash, communications equipment and services to Sichuan province of China. The donation includes RMB 200,000 cash donation to China Red Cross Association, as well as emergency control communications equipment, mobile phones and related services valued RMB 1.8 million for the disaster relief in the affected areas. Motorola Employee Service Committee (ESC) is also calling for donations from employees. You can either donate cash at your will to ESC site coordinators or donate one day salary. You will be receiving further details on this soon, and I encourage you to extend your helping hands to those in needs! Motorola will continue to contact local government, organization and customers to determine the donation and support for the next stage.

Partnering with Chengdu municipal government, technical teams from Motorola went on-site in timely manner to provide field support for the checking and recovery of base station and communications system. Leveraging its strengths in disaster relief and communications network protection services, Motorola also proactively contacted the Sichuan government departments and major operators to provide necessary assistance on the situation.

Motorola is closely working with the customers in Sichuan to ensure normal operation of their networks and equipment, at the same time, preparing to provide necessary support and donation for the next stage. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and are currently assessing the best method to support ongoing rescue and recovery efforts.

Regards,

Ruey Bin Kao

President of Motorola China

就不谈动机了,不过四川的大约 450 个员工确实是在第一线抢修通讯设备,算是帮了点儿实际的忙。

这个对于外资的公司貌似倒也正常,有些公司连平时的大小文档都是英文的。
