Bailing out the crisis or my pocket? 10/08/2008 14:13
The bail out is predicted to spend 12-15% of US GDP by December.

It is scary to think about it. The HSPH dean gave a state of address at noon. He stated the preparedness of the School's administration on the gloomy economic situation and future, and pointed out that it also offers opportunities. Harvard endowment decreased and would expect to decrease more. But nonetheless, I believe that Harvard may have the reserves to take some advantage of the opportunities that Crisis always offers.

What opportunity do individuals have? What opportunities do we have? Do we have the money to take advantage of any situation? Or are we falling altogether with the economic downturn?

Is it really a bail-out? It turned out that it is funny to use 'bail' and 'bail out' as it is shown here. Basically, it bails something out, and it at the same time abandons other. No?

The big party is over! Everyone gets to pay now and some have to pay more!

From last July till now, 2 trillion in the US retirement account is gone.

今天是刚一开盘就降了500点,还是我看错了。

谁说的美国人素质非常好哈?参加宴会不付钱,一看要收钱都跑了,素质好啥呀!

好像一家日本投资银行也破产了。

NPR said that Iran's storck market increased 20% in the past year and wasn't interlocked with the current crisis. So they think that God is punishing America.

It's depressing. i am going home.

Not only the Dow goes down a lot (and my retirement account is shrinking) but also

I paid a tax software to pay 2006 tax, and it didn't pay. So now I got a fine close to 2000$. (and phone calls, and need to write letters to IRS but probably it is easier to simply pay)

and
The insurance didn't pay the claims the time I had accident at Acadia , and the hospital sent the bill to the collector agency on me (another 800$), when the hospital is a contractor of the insurance, in which case i am not liable. so a lot of phone calls, and waiting of phones calls.

sucks, i am going home to enjoy the sunshine. who cares?

"Depressing" is the word I heard from a financial girl in the hallway. Don't know what else to say...Tomorrow will be a better day for you! by the way, did you use e-file for 2006? Just talk to the people about the things happened to you and you should be fine. 祝你好运
